NORTH COLLINS, N.Y. β It's that time of year when people are picking out that perfect Christmas tree. Those at Brant Morley Road Christmas Tree Farm say look no further because their spot has hundreds!
Chris Parr is an employee at Brant Morley Road Christmas Tree Farm. We asked him what makes picking out a tree so special for families. He explained how "they make a big event out of it. They all meet up here and kind of tailgate at their cars and then go get their Christmas tree. It's a lot of fun."
He has worked at Brant Morley Road Christmas Tree Farm for several years. He said since they re-opened for the season, they have been busy with lots of people coming by.
Parr said picking out a Christmas tree is a holiday tradition many people enjoy. He explained, "people are bringing their babies in sleds and the whole crew is trekking out there to get their tree and cutting it by hand. That's the whole experience!"
What used to be an abandoned vegetable farm many years ago has grown into what people see today: Hundreds of Christmas trees filled in the many acres of land.
Kristen Geiser and her family went out on Monday to find their tree. Geiser said, "I've done it since I was little. We lived in Missouri where it was too warm. There wasn't many Christmas tree farms. When we moved back here and we started doing this again. The kids just love it and it's worth it."
Geiser said she hopes this is a tradition that stays with her family for generations.
"I hope they can pass it on with their own kids and enjoy it the same way they always did when they were little. It's magical for Christmas time."
Brant Morley Road Christmas Tree Farm said the price is $60 for any size of tree. That does include tax and baling.
