Niagara Pumpkin Farm opens for the fall season

Their goal is to make sure everyone can celebrate the fall season.
Hayrides, games, bouncing and of course pumpkins. It's free to get into the farm. Some activities do cost money

SANBORN, N.Y. — If you're looking for a way to get into the fall spirit, perhaps you'll want to take a trip to Niagara Pumpkin Farm in Sanborn.

"It's great to see all the families come together and celebrate and have fun for the fall season. It means a lot to us to see the kids with smiling faces," owner Kyle King said.

Niagara Pumpkin Farm opened last weekend for the season.

"It was by far outstanding. We couldn't be more thankful for your support," owner Alisha King said, adding that they are "excited to be back" and can't wait "for you to see what's in store."

The start of the season has been busy for the family. They said a lot of planning goes into what you could see.

"The minute we close in November we are setting up for next year. It's constant," Kyle King said.

Their goal is to make sure everyone can celebrate the fall season. You can get into the farm at no cost.

"We wanted to give everyone a safe place to come that is affordable," Alisha King said. "We know how things can get expensive. We didn't want to be pushing towards a whole price tag. We want everyone to have somewhere to go this fall."

There are even some new attractions this year.

"We added a bounce pad, a pig race ride, pumpkin smash bowling, a corn maze. We have our hayride with a different sceneries," Alisha King said.

They also have some activities that do cost money like the bounce pad and pumpkin bowling. Alisha recalled her favorite part about the fall season. She said explained her favorite memory about the fall. She recalled "going out to pumpkin farms and getting my pumpkin and spending time with my family. It's our favorite time of the year."

They're bringing smiles not only on the farm, but also outside of it. They're mission is to give back.

"Six years we've been giving back to the community. Not only to Sweet Buffalo Rocks, Oishei Children's Hospital, the SPCA, Ten Lives Club. Just a whole  bunch of different charities we like to give back. Our family is honored to do it," Alisha said.

Kyle added: "We have four children of our own. I feel like being able to give back means the world to us and our kids, and I want them to grow up, seeing what's it like to do that."

They have a couple of events coming up including on October 6th for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. On Oct. 19, they are hosting a Trunk or Treat.

Their Haunted Hayride is starting on Oct. 4. Alisha King said, "our haunted hayride is going to be one in a lifetime."
