BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York State Police are known for their dedication and public service, and apparently, not so much for their uniforms.
One nationwide poll attempted to determine which state has the sexiest state police uniforms. Roughly 3,000 people took part in the poll, and they declared the Texas Department of Public Safety to wear the sexiest look.
Rounding out the top 10, in order, were:
- New Hampshire State Police
- Missouri State Highway Patrol
- New Jersey State Police
- Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Colorado State Patrol
- Washington State Patrol
- Florida Highway Patrol
- Hawaii State Sheriff Division
- Indiana State Police
So, where did New York State Police rank? They were in the middle of the pack, listed at No. 23, sandwiched between Georgia and Massachusetts.
The poll noted their crisp shirts in smoke gray, matching trousers, and royal purple tie. Pollsters said the New York uniform commands respect and weaves together the state's history.
North Dakota State Police were deemed to have the most unattractive uniforms.
