BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo-based New Era Cap is getting ready to celebrate something you probably own a few of, if you're a cap lover or a sports fan.
The brand's iconic 59FIFTY style turns 70 years old this year, the flagship store will celebrate with its annual celebration on Thursday, May 9, or 5/9.
The cap is the official cap of the NFL, MLB, and the NBA.
"We're going to have some great stuff going on in the store," Brand Historian Jim Wannemacher said. "We're going to have DJ's coming in, Perry's ice cream is coming here with a special ice cream for us. We're dropping some limited edition caps that will be available to everybody."
Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins will visit the store to sign autographs from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The store will also be stocked with special 70th anniversary pins for people who purchase a cap.
