BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new type of ATM from KeyBank will be out at local events this weekend, but not to help people handle personal finance transactions. Instead, they're a way for the bank to pay it forward.
"These are our mobile ATMs, and our latest brand campaign is all about meeting clients in the moment, so we're taking that literally and meeting our clients in the moment," KeyBank Senior Marketing Consultant Samantha Zardus told 2 On Your Side.
The ATMs are attached to bicycles, and the "T" stands for "thank you."
It could also stand for "treat."
"We'll be providing fans with thank you cookies for that T and just thanking the Buffalo market for all that they do for Key Bank," Zardus said.
Anyone can get a treat by simply entering their first name into the machine.
"They'll get a fun receipt and out will come a cookie or a taco depending on the day," Zardus said.
This holiday weekend is the first time the Automatic Thank You Machines will hit the streets of Buffalo.
The ATMs will have baseball cookies at the Bisons Independence Eve Celebration on Wednesday evening, and tacos from Deep South Taco at Riverfest Park from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Thursday, look for them at Canalsie from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with Fourth of July cookies.
