In time for Easter, Butter the Lamb has a new home

After surviving a dog attack, Butter the Lamb has found a new home with other sheep at the Forsyth-Warren Farm in Cambria.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's a happy ending for Butter the Lamb, who the Niagara SPCA advertised was in need of a home earlier this week.

The group behind revitalizing a historic farm welcomed him with open arms just in time for Easter.

The historic Forsyth-Warren Tavern and Farm in Cambria is one of the oldest buildings in Niagara County.

"It just so happens to be the first sheep farm in Niagara County," owner Tyler Booth told 2 On Your Side.

The farm was already home to four adult female sheep. Now they have a baby brother.

"He's definitely a little boy," Booth said. "He likes to play, chase the chickens, run around. Definitely a sweet guy."

Earlier this week, the Niagara SPCA shared on Facebook that the little guy was ready to be adopted, and looking for a new "relationsheep."

"We just happen to have some friends at Niagara County SPCA who sent us a link that they're looking for somewhere to house him, and we have plenty of land and a good group of girls that would take him," Booth said. "So it worked out perfectly."

Butter is only a few months old, but he already has quite the comeback story to tell.

He came to the SPCA after being attacked by a dog.

"He had a really rough start, but all healed up, super happy little guy," Booth said. "I think he's doing really well for everything he went through."

Now Butter can run free, knowing the "baaad" times are behind him.

"We are honored just to have part of that story," Booth said. "With everything he's gone through it kind of warms everyone's heart to have him be somewhere that is so perfect."

The Forsthye Warren Farm will host a reopening weekend event on May 18 and 19, when people can come meet the sheep and watch them get sheared for the summer.
