Based on the classic children's book by “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” author Roald Dahl, The BFG, is about a big friendly giant and his new friend, an orphan girl named Sophie.

Together they team up against evil man-eating giants.

Shot using motion capture up in Vancouver, the movie stars Mark Rylance who won an Oscar earlier this year for the Spielberg’s, “Bridge of Spies”.

At the Hollywood premiere, the actor talked about how Spielberg offered him the role.

“I just thought he was asking me to read a script he liked. He just wanted my opinion; I didn't know he was offering me a film. Who would think that? It was the second day of filming Bridge of Spies.”

About the film, Spielberg said, “We mixed this dream very carefully, and we mixed this dream of BFG. We kept all the cynicism out of it. We also tried not it make it just a pathetic sentimental journey. We wanted to make it a true love story and a developing friendship between two completely different personalities who find that they have and share so much in common.”
