WNY woman launches effort to help both healthcare workers and local restaurants

Every time the "Buffalo Strong" Go Fund Me reaches $150, organizers will donate a meal from a local restaurant to WNY hospital workers

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Want to make yourself feel better in times of crisis? Help others.

That's the thought behind a new campaign a Western New York nutritionist started to help two industries in time of need. Every time the "Buffalo Strong" Go Fund Me reaches $150, Kaila Proulx will purchase take-out meals from local restaurants and deliver it to a local hospital.

In an Instagram post, Proulx shared that she had already delivered food from Acropolis and Breezy Burrito Bar to the Buffalo General Hospital emergency department, as well as Sister's Hospital.

"Since starting the #BuffaloStrong GoFundMe a few days ago, I haven't once gotten stuck on the chaos in the world right now," Proulx said. "I've just been full of gratitude for the generosity of people in our local community and around the world."

Proulx says she hopes to make two deliveries a week during the coronavirus crisis. To make a donation, click here
