BUFFALO, N.Y. — Yes, you will see dinosaur bones at the Buffalo Museum of Science. And the museum has specimens of animals, some that still among us, and some that are not. But the museum is a lot more than that, don’t be a dodo bird.
They have hands-on, interactive, and highly contemporary at the Buffalo Museum of Science, including the newly installed: "Reinventing Reality", an exhibit from Virtual Science Center.
Reinventing Reality explores the science and the innovation behind virtual reality and how this 21st century technology is changing the world.
The exhibit is set up with some easy demonstrations, lots of explainers and activities along the way to break down how the technology works. For a test run, kids from the neighboring Charles Drew School were allowed to preview. For them, the coolest part was the 12 kiosks set up to allow them to play a VR game.
"Gaming is certainly part of it, but the kinds of technologies that rely on virtual reality that build up together to create VR experiences, we're seeing it in the medical profession.... There are stories in the exhibit that help us understand how we are seeing it in journalism and in academia and higher education," Marisa Wigglesworth the President and CEO of Buffalo Museum of Science said.
For members the exhibit has $6 charge. The general admission is $26 and $23 for kids. Of course that includes access to all the exhibits at the Buffalo Museum of Science.
