Erie County Fair train arrived in Hamburg Wednesday

The James Strates train arrived at the Erie Railroad Depot at the corner of Union and Scott Street in the Village of Hamburg.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Each year, the arrival of the Erie County Fair train is a signal that the fair is on its way. 

The James Strates train arrived at the Erie Railroad Depot at the corner of Union and Scott Street in the Village of Hamburg around noon on Wednesday. It was greeted by the Erie County Fair Band, the Fair Bear, as well as fans.

The train includes more than 50 rail cars for rides and equipment. It travels the east coast during the summer fair season. 

The Erie County Fair opens Wednesday, August 7 at noon.

Opening day is Channel 2 Day, with free admission for anyone who brings two or more canned goods for FeedMore WNY.
