NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — If you have a holiday gift you don't want or need but feel bad about returning or re-gifting it, there's no need to feel guilty. You can donate it to help out a good cause.
Community Missions of Niagara Frontier, Inc. is hosting a re-gifting party Thursday, January 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Chill 443 Main Street in Niagara Falls.
There's no ticket to get in. Instead, admission to the party is a new gift or item (or gift card) valued at $25 or more.
There will be hors d'eouvres, a 50/50 raffle, free games, drink specials, and live music.
The items collected at the re-gifting party will be included as prizes at the organization's annual Sweetheart Dinner on Friday, February 7 at the Sheraton Niagara Falls. The dinner is the agency's biggest fundraiser.
The dinner will feature more than 100 baskets, gift cards, lottery tickets, silent auction items, and numerous raffles.
Money raised supports various outreach programs, such as the community kitchen, food pantry, clothes closet, and emergency housing shelter.
Community Missions helped adults and children who are neglected, abused, or homeless. Agency programs help those with psychiatric disabilities, parolees, and at-risk youth.
