BUFFALO, N.Y. — Some big names are lined up for the 10th annual University United Festival at the University at Buffalo's South Campus.
For starters, Robin Thicke will be the headliner. He rose to fame in 2013 when "Blurred Lines" skyrocketed up the charts. He is currently a judge on the singing competition show "The Masked Singer."
Also performing Saturday, Aug. 10 at UB's South Campus Rotary Field will be Musiq Soulchild and SILK.
Musiq Soulchild earned 13 Grammy Award nominations between 2002 and 2018 in an variety of R&B categories, and SILK has been a regular on the R&B since they broke onto the scene in 1992.
The concert will be followed with a fireworks show. Th event will also include a parade, a kids zone area with amusement rides, and local vendors.
"As we mark a decade of bringing the community together, this year's lineup promises to deliver exceptional performances that resonate with all ages," festival executive director and chairwoman Taisha St. Jean said Thursday in a statement announcing the lineup.
"It has been a blessing to witness this festival grow over the years, fostering a sense of unity and joy among our attendees."
The event will start at 2 p.m. with a parade marching down Bailey Avenue toward Rotary Field.
"The University United Festival has become a cornerstone event, celebrating our community's diversity," University District Buffalo Common Council member Rasheed N.C. Wyatt said.
"I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the last decade and see this free community festival grow from something small into a highly anticipated event for the residents of the University District."
