Sydney Sterlace is back home following 'The Voice' finale

Sydney thanked her supporters and said she could feel the love from Buffalo while competing in Los Angeles.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — West Seneca's singing star returned to Western New York on Wednesday night.

Sydney Sterlace, 16, arrived at Buffalo Niagara International Airport around 9 p.m. She started the day in Los Angeles and came home to well wishers after competing in the finals of "The Voice."

Sydney finished third in the NBC competition. She thanked her supporters and said she could feel the love from Buffalo while out in Los Angeles.

"It was amazing, and it all felt so long in the moment. But then it went by so fast, and I can't believe it's already over," Sydney said at the airport.

Sydney preformed "Wild World" by Cat Stevens for her duet with coach, Gwen Stefani, during the season finale on Monday. Voting for The Voice opened at 8 p.m. Monday and ended at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Sydney said she plans to head back to school, but not on Thursday. Like so many other school districts across the region, West Seneca canceled class with a Lake Effect Snow Warning in effect.
