Performers announced for New Year's Eve ball drop in Buffalo

It will be the 32nd year for an event that raises money for the Police Athletic League, featuring Tommy Z and the All Star Band and saxophonist Will Holton.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In less than two weeks, Western New Yorkers will be getting together to celebrate the start of a new decade.

And in Buffalo, that includes New York State's other ball drop, the one that happens at the Electric Tower downtown.

It's the 32nd year for an event that raises money for the Police Athletic League, featuring performances from Tommy Z and the All Star Band and saxophonist Will Holton starting at 10 p.m.

"So when I think of all the traditions we have throughout the year, I can't think of anything more profound and significant than New Year's Eve to bring us together," said Tommy Z, a member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

"It's one of the few times we get to come together and celebrate new beginnings as a community, and we really should be thankful to have this here in Buffalo."

And if you're headed down there New Year's Eve, parking will be free at the Fernbach and Turner ramps.
