WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — Businesses along Main Street in Williamsville have hosted live music all summer long, but on Thursday evening, it was all to benefit a fellow musician.
Guitarist and singer Michael DiSanto suffered a stroke in July, and he is still going through rehab in the hospital.
Michael's fellow musicians have been collecting money to help support him, and they came up with the idea to host one more "Music on Main" concert night to help him with his medical bills again.
"Michael's been making a living playing music for, I'd say, 20 to 25 years in Western New York, and he plays everywhere, and he's a really great guy," said Geno McManus, Buffalo Music Hall of Fame guitarist. "Everybody knows him for his kindness and the love of his dogs, and also for being a tremendous musician. And this is his livelihood."
A big benefit show is also scheduled for September 27 at the Town Ballroom. Tickets to that are $15.
