Music is Art festival held in Buffalo

Goo Goo Dolls bassist and festival founder Robby Takac says this festival is a way for local artists to get more exposure.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — One of the last big festivals of the summer season kicked off this weekend.

Buffalo's Outer Harbor came alive on Saturday for the Music Is Art festival.

Hundreds of Buffalonians gathered at the festival's new location for all kinds of performances.

The Goo Goo Dolls bassist and festival founder Robby Takac says it's a way for local artists to get more exposure.

"I've been fortunate enough to have my band be able to go out and do some things and make some money, and I feel like this is a great mechanism for local creative people to get in front of people that probably never would have seen them before," said Takac.

This is the 22nd year the festival has been held in the Queen City.
