BUFFALO, N.Y. — One Direction fans in Western New York who are mourning Liam Payne's death will grieve together on Friday.
An event is planned for Friday, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Delaware Park, "where Cherry Blossom Festival is every year," according to the organizers. They're encouraging people to wear One Direction merchandise and to bring flowers, pictures, candles, balloons, and handwritten letters to remember Payne.
You're also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event.
Payne recently died after a fall from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. An Argentine official said the initial toxicology report showed that he had cocaine in his system, though final toxicology reports won't be known for weeks.
"Let’s make this a safe place where we can all grieve together and support one another," organizers said.
