BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame welcomed 10 new musicians to their 2024 class on Wednesday.
This years class of inductees includes:
- Phil Aguglia - A Grammy nominated music teacher and sought after conductor, clinician and speaker. Aguglia's received awards and nominations from People Magazine, Walt Disney Corporation, the Buffalo Bills and more.
- Anthony Casuccio - A Grammy nominated author, composer and educator. Casuccio has produced projects for artists including Jim Croce, Johnny Cash, Tommy Dorsey, and Les Paul.
- Hank D'Amico - A notable clarinetist in the Buffalo Jazz scene. D'Amico has played amongst legends like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
- The Krew Brothers Band - A family polka band that got their 'big break' on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour show back in 1961.
- RiShon Odel - A Grammy nominated Bassist, composer and producer. In 2010, Odel released a documentary on Jazz History featuring band members of Charles Mingus' tour band.
- Donna Rose - A vocalist from the 60s to today. Rose currently fronts her own band, The Donna Rose band and has been a part of other groups like Voyage, Brothers Plus, Rose Fever, and Pinnacle.
- Tom Russo - One of the most sought after drummers in Buffalo during the 70s and 80s. Russo has played for popular Buffalo groups like Penny Farthing,
the Farrell Brothers, Big Wheelie, and The Buffalo Blues Brothers Band - Christopher Swist - An internationally known master percussionist, composer and educator. Swist's music has been preformed by The Louisville Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the United States Military Academy to name a few.
- Jim Yeomans - A singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist from Nashville. Yeomans released the songs "Dance with Me in Three-Quarter Time" and "There Goes My Heart" on Amherst Records where he gained recognition around here and back in Nashville.
- Joe Zappo - A guitarist, singer, songwriter, and bandleader known affectionately as 'Dr. Z.' Zappo is a Buffalo Blues Brother legend and active in the WNY Buffalo Blues Society. His band, Dr. Z and the Blues Remedy are still going strong since the 80s.
An official induction ceremony will be held at Samuel's Grand Manor on October 9, followed by a concert at The Cove Seafood & Banquets the next night. BMHOF Executive Board Member Carolyn Moser will be the Chairperson for the induction.
