Opportunities at Buffalo International Film Festival this fall

Since 2006, BIFF has been welcoming people from all over the world to Buffalo.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Since 2006, the Buffalo International Film Festival (BIFF) has been welcoming people from all over the world to Buffalo. 

A goal of BIFF is to amplify diverse voices and share stories with communities of all different backgrounds. In addition to the festival, they also offer workshops, panel discussions, and seminars, according to their website.

This year, the festival takes place at North Park Theatre, Burchfield Penney Art Center, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center from October 10 to 17.

BIFF is calling filmmakers to submit their film to the final extended deadline: July 12. Artists will receive notification if their films were selected on August 8.

Even if you don't currently have a film ready to submit, there are still other ways to get involved. The organization offers internships for the fall, and is also looking for volunteers the weekend of!

The Tilke Hill W.i.P. Award is a memorial grant in honor of Tilke Hill and is awarded to artists who are currently developing a film. The $1,500 is for work in progresses that exemplifies fearlessness. The next due date is August 27.
