M&T Bank at Fountain Plaza to be featured in film

One local bank in downtown Buffalo is set to be featured in an upcoming film.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — M&T Bank's branch at Fountain Plaza is set to appear in an upcoming feature film.

"The Panic" is an independent film set in the early 1900s in New York City and is based on the lives of J. Pierpont Morgan and Charles Barney.

About 75 crew members will be on set, including dozens of Western New Yorkers.

Filming is expected to take over four weeks, with staff staying in town for about two months while production takes place.

"It's a great opportunity" said Brandon Rupp, a senior branch manager of M&T Fountain Plaza. "To be a part of an M&T branch that I manage every day is really exciting."

Producers of the film are anticipating the release of the project next summer.
