LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. — On Monday December, 11 popular actor best know for his role as Troy in Disney's High School Musical was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in L.A.
Zac Efron added his star during a ceremony that featured guest speeches from other popular actors Miles Teller, Jeremy Allen White, and director Sean Durkin.
Efron's star is the 2,767 star on the walk of fame, and was honored in the category of motion pictures.
“We are thrilled to honor actor Zac Efron who began his career as a Disney alum and has reinvented himself as a leading man by playing a wide variety of great roles” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “What a way to end our year of star ceremonies with this very popular and gifted actor!” added Martinez.
His role in Highschool Musical 2 broke cable TV records gathering 17.5 million viewers in 2007.
Highschool Musical director Kenny Ortega was also in attendance at the ceremony and later shared on his social media pages, "I always believed this day would come for Zac. Today in Hollywood is Zac Efron Day. He has just been presented with his own Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Congratulations Zac! May you continue to enjoy a long and illustrious career. So proud of you my friend! Much love and all my continued best!"
Most recently Efron will be starring in an upcoming movie, 'The Iron Claw' alongside co-stars Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson. The film features the story of an American family that has a dynasty of wrestlers based in the 1960s.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and has hosted globally iconic star ceremonies now for decades.
