Shakespeare in Delaware Park celebrates its 49th season of free Shakespeare beginning June 20.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Celebrating 49 years, Shakespeare in Delaware Park brings FREE Shakespeare to Delaware park beginning June 20.

Opening this year's summer season is Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale," a tale of redemption and love that will leave audiences spellbound. "The Winter’s Tale" runs June 20- July 14, Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:00pm,

Following the drama of "The Winter's Tale," get ready to laugh and prepare for an evening filled with hilarious misunderstandings and mistaken identities with "The Comedy of Errors" running July 15 - August 18, Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:00pm.

Shakespeare in Delaware Park performances are free and open to the public. Main stage performances take place on the Saul Elkin Stage in Delaware Park, next to Hoyt Lake behind the Rose Garden off Lincoln Parkway near the Albright Knox Art Gallery.

Those attending should plan to arrive at least a half hour prior to performance time. Bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets. The area closest to the stage is reserved for blankets only, the top of the hill allows for blankets and chairs. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy snacks and beverages.

The excitement doesn't stop ---"A Midsummer Night's Tour" brings Shakespearean magic on the road to 25 different locations throughout Western New York all summer long!! “A Midsummer Night’s Tour” is an hour-long abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
