BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) has announced the return of the Parks Adventure Bus, which provides free rides every Saturday to WNY's parks and beaches.
“For anyone looking for a quick and convenient free ride to check out our Erie County parks this summer I recommend a ride on the NFTA’s Parks Adventure Bus,” said Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz in a released statement. “We have 10,000 acres to explore and the NFTA is making it easier than ever to get there, so don’t miss your chance to get outside with family and friends to find your next adventure in our Erie County parks!”
This is the perfect opportunity to go swimming, have family picnics, and explore the greenery that WNY has to offer!
Service will begin June 8 and every Saturday through August 3, with a possible make-up day on Saturday, August 17 departing from the bus station in downtown Buffalo (181 Ellicott Street).
"Our parks should be accessible to everyone in our community, and it takes intentional steps like the one the NFTA is making with the Park Adventure Bus service to ensure accessibility exists,” said Erie County Legislature Chairwoman April N.M. Baskin.
Parks served include:
- Chestnut Ridge Park
- Fort Niagara State Park
- Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve
