ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Day 1 of the National Buffalo Wing Festival brought thousands of hungry people to Highmark Stadium.
This year's event features more than two dozen vendors from eight U.S. states, Mexico, and even Iceland. More than 23,000 people from 46 different states and 26 countries attended last year's event, organizers said.
Festival-goers told 2 On Your Side that they were happy to be back to experience new foods and flavors.
"There's nothing more buffalo than a chicken wing," Matt Pacanowski of Lancaster said.
Among the 63 new wing recipes this year are:
- Maple Bacon Jalapeno
- French Toast
- Cajun Rum Butter
- Whiskey Apple Bourbon
- Hot Dill Pickle
- Hawaiian BBQ
- Pineapple Rum
- Garlic Alfredo
- Smoked Bourbon
- Spicy Loganberry
The wing fest continues Sunday from noon until 7 p.m.
