BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Elmwood Village will host the second annual ArtFest to showcase local artists and craftspeople from the area. The festival will take place the weekend of Saturday, August 24 to Sunday, August 25.
It will run from 11am to 6pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday along the sidewalks of Elmwood Village. Live entertainment and an extreme eats competition will take place over the weekend.
EVA, the nonprofit organization that serves residents and businesses in Buffalo, has created an event similar to last year's inaugural fest.
"We were thrilled at the response to last year's new festival and look forward to growing this event every year within the community," EVA executive director James Cichocki said. "It is a great way to support local artists and performers as well as the small businesses in the Elmwood Village and it just somehow feels like the last hurrah of summer."
The festival will feature live entertainment and music, dance, spoken word, 'Kid's Zone,' food and drink, and plenty of work from local artists.
All roads will be open during the festival with artists and performers setting up on sidewalks, lots and parks.
"The mission of the EVA has always been to promote local arts community and add vibrancy to the Elmwood Village, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to do so with this new ArtFest," President of the EVA Board of Directors and small business owner Therese Deutschlander said. "The Elmwood Village ArtFest supports local artists, musicians, performers, businesses and the community as a whole."
