Free community night held at Botanical Gardens

Admission is free to visitors on the first Wednesday of each month this year.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is attempting to provide some warmth on cold and wet winter nights.

The Botanical Gardens held its first free Wednesday of 2024.  Admission is free to visitors on the first Wednesday of each month this year.

The crowds turned out for this first-ever community night at the Botanical Gardens.

"Tonight the theme is escape the winter, get warm out of the snow. Next month, African-American-owned businesses for Black History Month," Connor Keenan, the marketing coordinator at the Botanical Gardens, told 2 On Your Side.

The gardens are open everyday, and coming up, visitors can enjoy Orchids After Dark on select evenings in January and February.

The free events on Wednesday's run from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. You can enjoy a self-guided tour of the gardens, scavenger hunts, performances and more.
