BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's the official state of festival season in Buffalo.!
The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is hosting The 47th annual Greek Festival at the corner of Delaware and Utica this weekend.
There was no shortage of Western New Yorkers Friday night, who couldn't wait to get their fill. WGRZ's Keelin Berrian caught up with festivalgoers who make this an annual tradition.
Festival Spokesperson Christina Sergakis tells 2 On Your Side, "You'll get to see some traditional Greek dancing, and then lots of delicious food and you have to go you know there's the savory stuff down here the souvlaki and gyro and then you can go upstairs in the cafe get your sweet fix."
But it's much more than the food and celebration. The Greek Festival pays tribute to Greek culture in Western New York and around the world, featuring cultural exhibits, and church tours.
The Greek Festival Runs:
- Friday: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
- Saturday: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon - 8 p.m.
Admission is $3 for adults and teenagers. Children under 12 years old get in for free.
