NIAGARA FALLS, ON — Saturday marked the opening night for the 42nd annual Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The festival is Canada's largest free outdoor light event. There are over one million lights on display across the district.
Guests can also see the "Sparkling Winter Lights" illumination show produced for Niagara Falls Tourism by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board. he display features movements inspired by winter in the north. From gentle snowfalls to the aurora borealis gliding over snowy tundra, to blizzards and the frosted falls, the winter spectacular shows it all.
While winters up north are usually cold, the Hot Chocolate Trail is the perfect solution. The new, self-guided trail will lead guests to different stops with treats created by chocolatiers, chefs and mixologists at restaurants and bake shops across Niagara Falls.
The Hot Chocolate Trail features more than 20 stops with over 30 unique flavors to sip and savor, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options are available.
