Dancing in the dark has never looked this good.
Before the incredible dance crew Light Balance took the America's Got Talent stage on Tuesday, the Ukrainian performers were already winning over viewers with their emotional aspirations.
"Dance gave us a hope for a better life here in America," the group's technical director, Mykyta Sukhenko, told the AGT cameras in a pre-taped backstage interview. "If we win this show, we will have an opportunity to change the lives of our families, and bring them to America."
With their dreams riding on their audition, the dance crew knew they had to put everything they had into their performance, and they didn't disappoint.
With lights brought down to total darkness, one man, decked out in an LED-lined Uncle Sam-inspired suit blinked into existence, and began a psychedelic, beautifully choreographed light show dance number.
He was soon joined by his fellow dancers, all decked out in LED-lit suits as well, for a routine set to a pop-funk-techno medley that began with Bruno Mars' "24k Magic."
The trippy, high-energy number was unlike anything AGT has seen all season.
"We've seen dances in the dark before, but not this good," judge Heidi Klum marveled after the audition.
"We love what you did, and you should be very proud of yourself and very proud of your troupe," Howie Mandel added.
While Mel B and Simon Cowell continued to shower Light Balance with effusive praise, calling the number "absolutely brilliant" and "imaginative," their feedback wasn't quite positive enough for host Tyra Banks.
Banks took to the stage to share her own love for the performance, asking the audience, "Wasn't this incredible? Like, crazy good? Like 'blew my mind' good?!"
Banks took it upon herself to personally make sure the Ukrainian dance crew got a shot at winning it all by walking up to the judges' table and slamming the golden buzzer herself -- sending them straight to the live shows.
"There's no words to explain my feelings," Sukhenko said, choking back tears as golden confetti rained from the rafters. "It's like a dream come true. Thank you everybody!"
This season is shaping up to be one of the most amazing AGTs in years. Check out the video below for a look at some of the other amazing auditions over the last few weeks.
