BUFFALO, N.Y. — Courtney Cortright is an Anchor/Reporter for WGRZ-TV in Buffalo. 

A New York state native, Courtney was born and raised in Orangeburg. She is excited to be back in her home state to tell the stories of New York.

Courtney graduated Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. She majored in Journalism and minored in Sports Studies. While at Quinnipiac, she participated in Q-30 student media as a news segment reporter.

Courtney is an award-winning anchor and reporter. Before joining WGRZ, she worked at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. She was responsible for anchoring evening shows. She also launched Eastern North Carolina's only good news show called '9 on the Positive Side.'

Before joining WNCT, Courtney worked at WABI in Bangor, Maine. She started off anchoring the weekend night shows while reporting during the week. Then, she got promoted and took over the 10 pm and 11 pm news, while also juggling reporting.

Courtney also worked as an intern at Regional News Network (WRNN-TV) in New York for the summer of 2016. She helped producers and worked alongside reporters. In 2017, she became a production assistant at the 71st Annual Tony Awards in New York City.
