BUFFALO, N.Y. — Alissa Clausell is a Multi-Skilled Journalist at 2 On Your Side in Buffalo, NY.
A New York State native, she was born and raised in New Rochelle, New York.
Alissa is a proud Temple Owl, she graduated from Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications in May 2024. While in school, she majored in Journalism and minored in Political Science.
During her time at Temple, Alissa served as a main anchor and reporter for the University’s award-winning newscast, Temple Update. Alissa covered a wide range of stories during her tenure at Temple Update, including: The New Hampshire Primaries, the election of Philly’s first-ever female Mayor, the 2022 Midterm Elections, and continued coverage of the sudden death of Temple’s President – JoAnne Epps. She also served as President of Temple’s chapter of The National Association of Black Journalists and is still currently a member of NABJ.
Outside of Temple, Alissa has had various work experiences. She’s interned for The Today Show in New York City and continued her work in 30 Rock the following summer, working as an intern with the News Specials Unit where she assisted in the production of over a dozen breaking news interrupts across NBC News platforms and networks.
Alissa is so excited to be a part of the Channel 2 team, and to get to know the various communities throughout Western New York. When she’s not in the field chasing a story, you can find Alissa spending time with friends and family, testing out a new recipe in the kitchen, or checking out Buffalo’s food scene.
