CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — A strong line of thunderstorms quickly develop Monday afternoon and strengthened with the help of this hot and humid day.
As of 5:15 p.m., no severe weather alerts were in effect for Western New York as the line of previously severe warned storms moved out of the region farther east.
Reports of downed trees and powerlines, as well as some property damage in the town of Jamestown, were likely caused by the strong wind gusts associated with those severe warned storms.
However, a second line of thunderstorms located just east of Lake Erie will continue to track east Monday evening and approach Western New York later Monday night. Some of those storms have the potential to continue to be strong to severe and bring another batch of gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning late Monday night.
