BUFFALO, N.Y. — The sun is setting later and later. The amount of daylight continues to increase each day as well heading toward the Summer Solstice.
As of February 26th, the sunset is at 6 pm and will set at 6:14 pm on March 9th, before clocks spring forward one hour for Daylight Saving Time to begin on March 10th. That means the sun will be setting after 7:30 pm in just a few weeks and after 8 pm by mid-April.
The sunrise will continue to be earlier and earlier as well, minus the spring ahead one hour on March 10th. As of February 26th, the sunrise is just before 7 am, rising at 6:56 am.
The Spring Equinox is Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 11:06 pm Eastern Time, with 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.
On the Summer Solstice in June, the sun will rise at 5:36 am and set at 8:58 pm locally with about 15 hours and 20 minutes of daylight.
