BUFFALO, N.Y. — Closed since Thursday after a water main break, the Metro Rail's Delavan Station will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, in time for the new work week.
The Metro Rail has not been running to or from Delavan Station since Thursday morning because of flooding caused by the break.
Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority officials had the Delavan Station would remain closed all weekend, but were unsure when it would reopen.
"Metro Rail crews worked round the clock to pump out the water, clean the affected area, and make sure the station is safe for customers. We want to thank all of our riders for their patience during this time," an NFTA spokesperson said in a statement Sunday night.
Crews worked to repair a water main break near Canisus College in North Buffalo on Wednesday night, causing the closure.
According to Buffalo Water, the break did cause outages in service for a short time around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday but are no longer reporting any outages.
There were lane restrictions on Main Street near Jefferson as crews worked to repair the damage there.
