FREDONIA, N.Y. — Western New Yorkers were celebrating Tuesday night in the Village of Fredonia as the small town received some big news. Fredonia will be featured on season five of "Small Business Revolution."
The Western New York community helped Fredonia get to the finish line, beating out four other communities in a national public vote.
The show will bring $500,000 worth of economic resources to the area, revitalizing select small businesses in Fredonia. It will also put Fredonia on the map, creating international exposure on Hulu, Amazon Prime and Deluxe platforms.
One of the show hosts, Amanda Brinkman, told reporters after the announcement, "We're really impressed with the Village of Fredonia and the fact that the small business owners were really the ones that were really driving the vote and really getting the word out about how special of a place this is."
Brinkman added, "The whole point of a 'small business revolution' is truly to create a movement to get more people inspired to support small businesses and so we're seeing that alive and well here in Fredonia."
From here the process will move quickly. Businesses will be able to apply to be a part of the show, and filming is expected to start in early March.
