Civil matter prompts large police presence in Williamsville

Amherst Police were called to assist the Erie County Sheriff's Office in dealing with a civil matter.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — Amherst Police were called to assist the Erie County Sheriff's Office in dealing with a civil matter.

There is a large police presence on Sheridan Drive and Country Parkway.

Amherst Police say there was no immediate threat to the general public.

They would not provide specific details about the incident, but they did say an investigation is continuing.
