NEW YORK — Drive sober or get pulled over.
With Labor Day approaching, New York State Police and other law enforcement agencies across the state are teaming up in a combined effort to stop impaired driving.
The statewide Stop-DWI Crackdown Campaign for the Labor Day holiday started on Wednesday, August 19 and is scheduled to end on Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
"There is no excuse for driving impaired - it's reckless and puts not only yourself but everyone else on the road in danger," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. "We have zero tolerance for this irresponsible behavior and we're stepping up patrols to send a clear message: If you drink and drive, you will be caught and you will be held accountable."
The campaign is funded by the state’s Traffic Safety Committee.
