A Niagara Falls parolee, who was convicted of reckless manslaughter in 2011 for the death of his 22-month-old daughter, has been charged with receiving and possessing child pornography.
Randy Colucci, 33, was arrested after prosecutors say that he used an IP address that viewed videos and images of child pornography. Investigators then recovered digital media from Colucci that contained child pornography.
The charges carry a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.
Colucci is being held pending a detention hearing on April 12.
In spring of 2010, Colucci's 22-month-old daughter, Carmen, was strangled when her neck became trapped between the top rail of her playpen which was covered with a mattress and a television on top of the mattress.
The toddler died a few days later. Prosecutor said that Carmen was in the pack-n-play playpen with her brother. It was urine soaked as the children were left unattended for 17 hours.
