BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man is facing charges in connection to an alleged rape, according to the Erie County District Attorney's office.
DA John Flynn announced that 28-year-old Rickey D. Roberts was arraigned Wednesday on one count of Rape in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree.
The incident happened back on December 8th. The DA's office says Roberts is accused of claiming he had a gun, and forcibly engaged in sexual conduct and sexual intercourse with the victim while threatening to hurt him/her. After the assault, the victim was able to seek help from Good Samaritans.
Roberts waived his right to a felony and is being held without bail.
If convicted of the highest charge, Roberts faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
