BUFFALO, N.Y. — Some of you might be keeping a close eye on your mailboxes, looking for your property tax rebate checks.
If you didn't get your STAR credit yet... you're not alone.
According to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, hundreds of thousands of rebates haven't been sent out yet.
Of the 2-million checks estimated to go out this fall, the department confirmed today that just about 1.4-million of them have gone out to New York homeowners.
If you're one of those approximately 600,000 taxpayers who has not received a rebate check, you can reach out to the state through the STAR Call Center: 518-453-8146.
The Department of Taxation and Finance tells us they extended call center hours until 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and have weekend hours until 4:30 p.m. to assist homeowners with questions about their STAR benefit.
