Silo City redevelopment proposal headed for City Hall review

Plans call for converting the former American Malt House silos at 139 Buffalo River Place into 162 apartments, along with some commercial or retail space.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The development group seeking to recast vacant Buffalo River silos into residential units and commercial space will take the first phase of their project to the Buffalo Planning Board.

Miami-based Generations Development LLC, along with Rigidizied Metals Co. owner Rick Smith, will appear in City Hall on Dec. 2. The project is Generation Development's first in Buffalo. Plans call for converting the former American Malt House silos at 139 Buffalo River Place, off of Childs Avenue, into 162 apartments, along with some commercial or retail space.
