BUFFALO, N.Y. — A redesign of the Parkhurst Townhomes received the backing of the Buffalo Planning Board, but that doesn’t mean the project has been green lighted.
The Parkhurst Townhomes, however, is at a standstill until a possible recommendation later this month by the Buffalo Preservation Board and a vote on the landmark status by the Buffalo Common Council, possibly in March.
Last month the Campaign for Greater Buffalo, History and Architecture began pushing for landmark status for a pair of W. Utica Street homes that are poised to be demolished to make way for the project, the third planned for the Elmwood Crossing campus. If the landmark status is approved, it would supersede the planning board ruling and force developers Ellicott Development Co. and Sinatra & Co. Real Estate to come up with a new proposal for the property. You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website.
