FREDONIA, N.Y. — Tuesday is a big day for the Village of Fredonia. They will find out tonight if they're the winners of a $500,000 competition.
Fredonia is one of the five finalists in the running to be featured on a TV show called "Small Business Revolution".
The Western New York community helped Fredonia get this far. Now, Fredonia wants everyone to join them tonight as they find out if they actually won this competition.
There will be a big celebration at the Fredonia Opera House Tuesday night beginning at 7 p.m.
The official announcement should come down around 8 p.m.
At last check, Fredonia was in the lead in voting among the top five towns, although it was dead heat.
Business leaders who mobilized the effort say they're especially proud since they're one of the smallest towns in the running.
"There are communities three times larger than Fredonia, and I think it's a testament to all of Western New York how the whole region has rallied around this and supported us in this initiative. Because we've needed the whole region throughout this," said Todd Tranum, president and CEO, Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce.
If Fredonia wins, the show will begin filming in the spring.
It will bring $500,000 worth of economic resources to small businesses in the village.
