BUFFALO, N.Y. — The first recreational marijuana shop in Cheektowaga is now open.
East Leaf Dispensary, located at 2442 Clinton St., welcomed customers for the first time on Saturday.
The owners said they were awarded their provisional license from the state one year ago. They say their main focus is to break the stigma that comes with using recreational marijuana by educating the community.
"Come in, give us a chance. Let us show you, educate you, change the stigma on cannabis, the users and the plant both," co-owner Gina Miller told 2 On Your Side. "That's what our mission is, that's what our goal is: to educate the public and provide safe, regulated products to adults."
East Leaf Dispensary is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Another dispensary, Devil's Lettuce, recently opened at 650 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca. It opened Friday, with its hours running daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.
