Pierogi Pete's closes in Clarence

The closure follows a lawsuit filed in February and a trademark infringement dispute between the company and a former executive tied to a trademark application.

CLARENCE, N.Y. — When Ania Duchon’s company opened Pierogi Pete’s in mid-2023, plans called for franchising with additional locations both locally and outside the region.

Instead, the sole location at 9320 Transit Road in Clarence closed Dec. 10 after an 18-month run. The business was an offshoot of Simply Pierogi and part of Chrusciki Enterprises, which also includes Chrusciki Bakery and Sto Lat Bar.

The restaurant operated under a quick serve format that allowed customers to create custom bowls featuring a variety of pierogi flavors from Simply Pierogi.
