BUFFALO, N.Y. — A legal battle between two ownership groups may signal the end for Mister Sizzle’s, the popular smash burger joint on Buffalo’s West Side.
The company this week closed its new location at 1 Buffalo St. in Hamburg just weeks after launching for takeout and delivery, and it’s likely the original site at 346 Connecticut St. in Buffalo could follow early next year, according to R. Anthony Rupp III, an attorney with Rupp Pfazgraf LLC. Rupp represents Casey and Chris Casas, the couple who own 50% of the restaurant.
“The lease is up in February,” he said. “If this can’t be resolved, it will close.”
