BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Garden is a great place to escape the rainy weather, and you can do so on Friday for just a buck.
Admission will be one dollar, all day, in honor of National Public Garden Week, with more than 150 public gardens across the country raising awareness for their missions. You may notice that local landmarks such as Niagara Falls, City Hall, and the Electric Tower in Downtown Buffalo have each been lit up in green at night to celebrate the occasion.
"They are beautiful, unique places throughout the country that should be celebrated all the time," Vice President Erin Grajek said. "It's really nice to have a week to really just say, come out, see your local botanical gardens, go adventure and see them in other places when you travel, find out where they are, and go and see them."
National Public Garden Week corresponds with another one of the most popular events of the year at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens. The Great Plant Sale will take place Thursday through Sunday, May 18th.
