BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo's singing cops are headed back to Hollywood!
Officers Michael Norwood, Jr. and Armonde 'Moe' Badger signed a contract with a Entertainment One for their own TV sitcom. The duo told 2 On Your Side it will be a comedy.
"It's really surreal," Norwood said. "I wake up sit on edge of bed and I feel like I am living in a dream because this is something we never asked for it just came about."
The officers hired entertainment lawyer Anthony Jones, who is a Buffalo native.
Details are still being worked out about how many episodes will be filmed, what network the show will air on, and where the sitcom will be shot. However, the officers told 2 On Your Side they want some of the show to be filmed in Buffalo.
The officers became famous after a video of them singing in a downtown Buffalo restaurant went viral. Norwood and Badger appeared on The Ellen Show this past spring, and they released a single in July.
Both officers work off-duty in the Buffalo Public Schools. Badger and Norwood are often inside the hallways of MST Seneca and East High Schools. It's more than singing for the officers. They along with Buffalo Police Lieutenant Todd McAlister started the C.O.P.S.S. (Children Overcoming Police Stereotypes through Sports) program.
The officers have no plan to quit their jobs as Buffalo Police officers. They say they've been encouraged by the commissioner to serve the community.
