WNY ties to Super Bowl Champs

The Super Bowl made some WNY natives champions. A graduate of Grover Cleveland High School and Turner Carroll are members of the Eagles. The Offensive Coordinator, Frank Reich was the back up QB to Jim Kelly.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Super Bowl LII had plenty of Buffalo connections on the field.

Rob Gronkowski came up short this year, as the New England Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33.

On the winning team, two Buffalo natives can boast their victory. Corey Graham and Steve Means made a lot of people proud - especially their little league coaches from Buffalo.

Coach Burnett had the pleasure of being at the game in Minneapolis. Coach Lewis "Muki" Hawkins watched it in Buffalo.

"This is just a testament to every single coach in the inner city that provided the opportunity for kids like Corey and Steve and rest of the kids trying to live their gift," Hawkins said.

On Facebook, Means posted a picture with the trophy and wrote, "BUFFALO this is for you!!!! For all the support, all the times they counted us out, all the losses, EVERYTHING WE BEEN THRU... THIS IS FOR YOU!!!! FROM THE LO TO THE TOP!!!! AND Y'ALL WAS RIGHT THERE WIT ME... THIS IS FOR U... THIS IS FOR US... GOD IS SO AMAZING..."

This is Graham's second Super Bowl ring. He won one with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013.

South Park High School football coach Tim Delaney attended the Super Bowl courtesy of Lorenzo Alexander and the Buffalo Bills.

Also in the stadium - Hall of Fame Quarterback, Jim Kelly. He was beaming to see his back up QB win a ring as the Offensive Coordinator.

"Just cheering him on, it felt almost like I was cheering for the Buffalo Bills," Kelly said. The two men spoke up after the game. "He said he thought about me after the game was over and how he wished I would have been able to get that feeling."
