WNY native named to U.S. Olympic men's ice hockey team

Goaltender David Leggio will represent Western New York and the United States in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Williamsville native, David Leggio, has been named to the 2018 U.S. Olympic men's ice hockey team. Leggio,along with teammate and fellow goaltender, Brandon Maxwell complete Team USA's final 25-man roster.

Leggio, a graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute currently plays in Germany for EHC München of the DEL and has represented Team USA in two IIHF Men's World Championships in 2010 and 2014.

Leggio is also a former Buffalo Sabres' prospect and spent five years in the AHL with a few teams from 2010 to 2015.

Before that, he played at Clarkson University and helped the Golden Knights to a conference playoff title in 2007 and a regular season championship the following year.
